AFFILIATIONS

With the Government of Lebanon

The Government of Lebanon, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, provides financial support via a yearly contract of a certain number of beneficiaries. However, the Ministry of Social Affairs' resources do not permit to pay except for insignificant amount for each student's tuition.

FDA has a contract with the National Employment Institute at the Ministry of Labor to pay the students of the vocational training section stipends for onsite-jobs.

With local NGO's

FDA has established long standing relations with local NGO's on national level, such as

• The National Union of Parents and Institutional Associations for Intellectually Disabled. FDA has carried out to present date, the responsibility of this Union and chaired its BOD.
• FDA was nominated by the Lebanese National Organization for the Disabled to advocate and represent the disabled persons in Lebanon.

On the international level, FDA has affiliations with:

• Union of the Parents of Mentally Retarded Children in France (UNAPEI), a French national union of parents and friends organizations of intellectually disabled.
• The Arab Forum of Organizations for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities that represents the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region of Inclusion International.

Do you know that services to the disabled is an expensive proposition, particularly the rehabilitation and vocational training.

To ensure continuity and quality of the services provided, the Association derives its revenue from a combination of resources:

1. the Ministry of Social Affairs
2. fee for service, based on an income generating scale
3. sponsorship scheme by individuals and funding agencies
4. sale of workshops production
5. individual contributions
6. community voluntary work (professionals and other members)
7. sale of tickets for special events, i.e. concerts, gala, dinners
8. direct debit program
