Headmaster/Executive Director: This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled and multi-cultural educators and therapists who all share a passion for children with disabilities for the past 24 yrs. Join our team and achieve terrific growth potential. Our school currently serves 100 young children ages 0 months to 3 years and 250 school age students. The environment is an exciting one rich with opportunities for expansion.


You will be required to have the following skills: 

Excellent interpersonal skills and management skills
A thorough understanding of how to deliver quality education with a multi-cultural staff
The ability to interview and recruit additional school staff
The knowledge how to take a prestigious school and drive it forward

This position is a flagship one and will require someone with the highest level of personal skills to live and work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia . This school will have a number of high profile people involved with it and is on its way to becoming a national leader in services for individuals with disabilities. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Masters degree required. Doctorate preferred.

2.  Professional License; Endorsed in Special Education and Administration and   Supervision

3.  Five years successful administrative experience

4.  Experience in a multi-cultural employment environment

5.  Preference given to candidates that speak Arabic

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Displays a passion for designing programs and delivering exemplary services for children from early childhood to young adulthoodManagement style that is culturally sensitive

2. Manages the operations of Special Education program via teachers, therapists and a management board, and administrators, and recruits staff. Develops, coordinates and monitors budget of Special Education programs.

3. Collaborates with community groups, parent agencies and members of the community on Special Education issues.

4. Provides leadership and facilitates the evaluation of Special Education programs, development of new and revised programs, policies and procedures.

5. Ensure the pursuit of Special Education best practices and compliance with laws, rules and regulations of Saudi Arabia and the UN Council.

6. Provides leadership and input to local, regional and national groups on issues related to Special Education.

7. Assists the Special Education Advisory Committee with program expansion throughout Saudi Arabia and within the Emirates.

8. Facilitates professional development activities for Special Education staff in coordination with content specialists, training consultants, local colleges and universities.

9. Oversees all aspects of Student Services (therapists, teachers, aides, counselors, psychologists, etc.).

10. Familiarity with UN Plan as it relates to services for individuals with disabilities.

11. A spokesperson for children with disabilities and the Center.

 

 

START DATE: January 1st 2010

 

Other Requirements:

Willingness to commit to no less than a 3 year assignment. Interest in professional development and capacity for interagency collaboration with local agencies. Ability to set high standards for the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
