Resources for a Child Who Has Different Abilities
Preschool

During the first six years the child is primarily an imitator. In the pre-school phase, he gets involved, with wonder and amazement in the artistic and pedagogical initiatives of the teacher until his/her creative instinct burgeons and incites him/her to develop willingness to participate in what is going on. The child with disabilities needs the help of the grownup to join in the playing. How the teacher intervenes and helps should be in close harmony with the dispositions of the child. While the child is imitating, during game or play, alone or as part of a group, his/her skills are increasing. The realm of his/her experiences widens and thus gradually learns to adjust to the surrounding world.
