PUBLIC AWARENESS

NewMexico Conference for Inclusion International

NewCheck MENA Constitution , Codes and Bylaws (Arabic Only)

To raise the awareness of the public about preventive measures and the importance of early intervention, we engage in a series of audio-visual programs and information meetings, involving the community specialists in pediatrics, psychiatry, neurology, and special educators.

These series of programs are also designed to mobilize the community resources to foster integration of children with different abilities into society.

The information meeting programs include a volunteer basis program for parents, and a bi-weekly open day to allow direct participation of parents in their child’s education.

From our Public Campaigns:

Public Campaign launched in August 2004:

Following visuals were on streets billboards, almost all through Lebanon. The purpose of this campaign was to stress that " WE ARE BORN EQUAL" and "DISABILITY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER".

Friends of the Disabled Association (FDA) acknowledges the sponsoring of this event: Pikkasso, Leo Burnett, and the First National Bank (FNB).

This campaign was followed by press-ads, to further highlight the objectives:

Disability is in the eye of the beholder

Because your stare and glances create a segregation and inferiority, we work to change preconceived notions and to prove to the world that all individuals have abilities that distinguish them from others, without setting them apart.

For the last 25 years, Friends of the disabled Association, and now I'dad center, has been working on the integration into society of persons with special needs in the hopes of creating a place that does not allow for discrimination of any kind.

Today we celebrate the growth of our generations, as we see them participating and becoming productive in society, proving to everyone that the disability is only in the eye of the beholder.
