Friends of Disabled Association celebrates its 30 anniversary

1. FDA organized an intensive course in Early Intervention from July 21st till July 29th, 2008, based on the Portage program. Participants from 16 national organizations and two Syrian organizations attended this 10-day workshop which was sponsored by Amideast and USAID .
2. FDA organized its Yearly Gala Dinner, held at Pangea Resort, where more than 300 guests enjoyed a cheerful evening and a delicious dinner offered by Pangea administration. The dinner was opened with a welcome speech by Dr Charafeddine and Media star Mrs. Ghada Eid talked about the development of our association over the last 30 Years. Mrs. Eid shared the charity auction sale with the prominent Media Star George Kurdahi, where Amin El Basha’s painting "Angelina Garden" was posted. This painting was offered in memory of Mrs. Aliya El Khalil Al Saidi, and offered by Mr. Ramzi Alsaidi. The profits of that even went to develop programs and facilities at Idad School in Mechrif.
3. FDA held its annual Ramadan Bazar at Holiday Inn Dunes on August 26, 2008.
4. FDA is in the process of organizing a big Iftar in Sharjah and Dubai during the holy month of Ramadan.
5. FDA is in the process of organizing a national Art Festival in December 2008 celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disability at UNESCO Palace
