A Farewell party | The second session | A wonderful day | As part of their educational activities | The I’dad athletic team | Our friends from the Canadian Embassy and Oxfam-Canada fund | Sponsored by the Hadath Lions' Club | For the Greek Orthodox Easter |

A Farewell party

took place on April 1, 2005 to one of our beloved students, Mike Ghobril, who had to leave I’dad School to join another school because of transportation difficulties... It was a very touching experience for everybody, students as well as teachers. Mike is a very pleasant person, he grew up with us and he was able, throughout the many years he spent here, to cultivate beautiful friendships with almost everyone. We are all going to miss Mike a lot, and we all wish him happiness and success in his new school.

The second session

of In-training Program was held on April 9 at the FDA’s premises in Mseitbeh. The session was prepared by Jumana Khoury, Zeina Nour and Leila Kabbout jointly and the theme was autism. All the staff attended and unanimously felt that it provided them with a great deal of useful, practical information on how to manage the classes of children with autism.

A wonderful day

for a group of I’dad Center’s students along with their teachers and the Director was spent where they all participated in the Beirut Marathon on April 10, to express their solidarity with the national call for unity of the Lebanese . The students got their T-shirts with the Marathon slogan and they participated in the long walk downtown Beirut to reach Martyr's Square amidst the cheering crowds and the festivities organized throughout the streets.

As part of their educational activities

a group of I’dad’s students visited the Port of Beirut on April 12, and got a very well-organized informative tour of the various port areas and their respective functions. Of course, the children benefited greatly from this experience because it was a direct application of the material they had learned in class.

The I’dad athletic team

participated in the Football Tournament organized by the Special Olympics on April 13 on the fields of Tanmiya Al Fikriyah Association in Beirut. It is true we did not achieve a great victory, but we had a lot of fun !!!

Our friends from the Canadian Embassy and Oxfam-Canada fund

visited I’dad grounds on April 15. The children were, as usual, extremely welcoming and they showed our dear guests a sample of the folk-dances they are preparing for our end-of-the-year ceremony.

Sponsored by the Hadath Lions' Club,

two young and talented designers painted a huge mural on the main hall wall of the I’dad’s pre-school section. Some of our students with artistic talents (Raja Nassar and Walid Torbey) assisted them in the painting, and the end-result was an astonishing bright colorful scene of children playing in nature!

For the Greek Orthodox Easter,

Mrs L. Khalil invited a big group of I’dad’s students to their beautiful gardens in Mechref for a thrilling egg-hunt. The children enjoyed every single minute of this day-out under the sun, among the flowers and the trees, in the company of our very charming host.
